Title:
ABARES National Wood Processing Survey: 2012-13
Series:
Research reports
Series Issue:
14.6
Publication Date:
08/07/2014
Description:
Between September 2013 and March 2014, ABARES surveyed Australian wood processors to obtain up-to-date mill-specific data, including on mill inputs, production and employment. The survey was jointly funded by ABARES and Forest and Wood Products Australia (FWPA), and represents an update of the 2010-11 national wood processing survey. The results from this survey provide consistent and reliable estimates of the production of hardwood and softwood wood products, using a standardised approach and standardised definitions across each state of Australia. ABARES received completed survey forms from around 48 per cent of hardwood sawmills, 69 per cent of softwood sawmills and 60 per cent of cypress pine sawmills (150 in total)
